Ivan the Terrible - 27 yrs

I met Ivan in Colorado. He was a 9 year old unbroke mustang. He also was the coolest horse I had ever met. The hardest part about breaking Ivan was the odd stuff, like carrying a hoof pick over to him. His trust had to be earned. He never offered to buck, rear or any silly stuff. I eventually competed him in eventing and he did quite well.

Today Ivan is a retired 27 year old mustang that gives my girls riding lessons. Once you have earned the trust and heart of a mustang, you have earned so much!
